Romeo and Juliet

Today in English we just finished Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. That was a very hard play to understand but once you participated you could really get into it and understand it more. In the begging I had no idea what we were talking about until I really got into it and participated. I don't know if I could ever read anything by him again because the way he writes is so hard to understand. I don't understnad how you could write like this. If i read anymore by him then I would have to research the book or play before hand so I actually know what is going to be happening. I know that in my future I am going to have to read more books by him and that will be hard. As long as i ask questions and understand, I should be good.

Next we are going to have to write a paper on Romeo and Juliet based on if it's a comedy or a tragedy. In my opinion I don't understand how it would be a comedy I didn't find it funny in my opinion. In my paper I am going to argue that it is a tragedy because it's so sad how Romeo took his own life for Juliet when she wasn't even dead. I hope you can find some time to read it or watch the movie. Even though there are so many choices of the play to watch my favorite was the newer ones, not the oldeer ones. When youe watching somthing thats old but made in the future then you can understand it way more. Good luck!

The Newspaper

Hello Blogger's! This morning I picked up a nice hot chocolate and Sunday paper with my dad. When I got home I had nothing better to do but read the newspaper. I saw an article about my school in there, about how our soccer team won state. My brother plays on the soccer team and I was at the game. Reading the players perspective about the game was really strange. I always wonder what other players think about the game especially after they on state.

I really liked how this article was written using big words and asking the players what they thought. You can defiantly tell the difference from the our schools sports writer to a real life writer. I liked how they put the boys not so good moments to the best moments of the game. They also pieced this together so well I don't know how they did it. I hate writing so writing an article about something intense like this I don't know how I would do it.

Blog Relection

When I think back on my time blogging this trimester I think of one word, time consuming.  This was very time consuming on my part because I never got done in class and I never liked what I was writing. That caused me to delete past post and write a new one.  Also in the beginning I was so behind trying to create a blog and not knowing what I was doing. We got almost once a week to write a blog post and you have to make sure you have an idea of what to write about and that you have read. Sometimes that was my struggle not being prepared.  Towards the end of the trimester I got a hang of it. Now for the future I will be prepared.  One strength that I had throughout the trimester was getting into my blog post not just writing a short little post to get credit but really explain so that it make sense.

My best blog post I think so far is about The Cupcake Queen. In this post I have used a quote to explain my reasoning and description. Also I said that I haven't got into the book yet and I wrote about what I knew so far. Also I wrote about the character and when I get further into my book I will write about how she has changed or how she hasn't changed. Also I followed all the requirements on the rubric but I didn't go above and beyond.
For the next trimester my goal is to read 3 books and write very well developed blog post. I want to wow everyone from the first trimester to the second. I also want to be prepared and read extra. I don't like reading that much but I really want to start getting into it.

The Cupcake Queen

Hello blogger's! I just started a new book The Cupcake Queen by: Heather Helper. I was reading Uglies but I got bored of that book and didn't really like it. I asked one of my good friends and she gave me the idea to read this book. She told this book was really well written and thought I might enjoy it. So far I am really enjoying it, I can relate very easily and makes so much sense.

Penny's mom and her left Manhattan to open  a cupcake bakery in Hog's Hollow. The name of there bakery is The Cupcake Queen, it's not an average bakery its only cupcakes and all pink. Penny is a young teenager. Penny is not an average girly teenager, she hates the color pink and cupcakes. Penny has no one to talk to because she left her best friend; the only one who understands her."They're pink, I mean pink. Pink cupcake papers, pink cupcakes, pink frosting, pink sprinkles, and now pink rosebuds. It's like someone drank a whole bottle of Pepto-Bismol and then threw up in six dozen cupcakes."(Page 1) This quote shows that everything on this one cupcake is pink. Basically everything is pink.

This is all I have read so far in this book. I am hoping on finishing it soon so I can start a new one. Once I read some more I will make a post about it and what I think.

The School New's Paper

We just got our second edition of the "Chronicle", our school news paper. I have to say they do a really nice job writing it. Making you feel like a professional did it. I also like the fact that they talk about everything and quote people in the school. They also make you feel like everyone is involved using kids from all grades and all races.

My favorite article this week was the article about how high school students transport from the pool lot to the school. When I'm walking to the bus in the afternoon to go home, you see upper class men riding there scooters to there cars. If you really think about it, it's much faster than walking because it's a very long walk. In this article the author says, "Tomassoni and a group of her friends have a found a good use for those old scooters they used to ride around their neighborhoods when they were kids." This is very true I have a scooter at my house that I don't use at all. It sits there as a waste of space because I don't ride it anymore. When I get my Licences I'm defiantly going to have to think about using My old scooter for transportation.

A Walk to Remember

The book I'm currently reading is A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I am only in  the beginning of this book and it's amazing. Jamie Sullivan is living a hard life, not having a mom and growing up with her father. "He was forty-three before he ever got married; he was fifty-five when his daughter, Jamie Sullivan, was born. His wife, a wispy little thing twenty years younger than he, went through six miscarriages before Jamie was born, and in the end she died in childbirth, making Hegbert a widower who had to raise a daughter on hi own."(Page 14) This quote shows that Jamie is living a hard life without a mom and has to learn what her mom went through to have her. Jamie was raised by a much older father than most kids her age. Growing up with a dad she didn't get to learn how to fix her hair and how to wear makeup like most of her friends.

In the begging of this book Jamie is very shy and doesn't really talk until one day a boy shows up in her life changing it forever. This boy I do not know the name of yet, but he is changing from a punk to a kind hearted teen who really cares about girl. I really hope you will find the time to read this book because once you do, you'll never want to stop.

The Fault In Our Stars

The book I read for my summer reading project was The Fault in Our Stars By: John Green.  This book is an amazing book for readers who want to read about young love and how strong a relationship can grow when you go through hard times.  In this book there was a young girl named Hazel who was diagnosed with cancer and told she wouldn't live much longer.

Hazel’s mom decided she was depressed and needed to get out of the house, so Hazel’s mom sent her to a support group to get out of the house and talk about her cancer instead of reading about it. When Hazel’s mother dropped her off at the support group things weren't as bad as she thought it would be. Hazel met a boy named Augustus who told her she was beautiful. That chanced Hazel’s mind from thinking about death to him and to hatting this support group to loving it. Read this book to find out what Hazel and Augustus’s relationship will turn out to be.
